Did you take your Texas DPS License to Carry class online? Do you need to complete the last step in the process before submitting your application? Is your Online Class Provider too far from Austin to complete the Proficiency Demonstration?

Well, you have come to the right place. Overwatch Gun Works has DPS Certified LTC Instructors in Austin who can help you complete the class and get your License.

In order to obtain a Texas License to Carry after successfully completing an in-person or online LTC Class, every student must receive Range Instruction, and undergo a comprehensive Proficiency Demonstration (AKA - Shooting Qualification).

Unless you qualify for an exemption, such as holding a military range card dated within the last 10 years, you must complete the Range Instruction & Proficiency Demonstration as part of your LTC application, demonstrating your commitment to firearm safety and proficiency.

After completing an online LTC class and receiving your LTC-100, LTC-101, or LTC-104 certificate, you'll need an LTC Instructor to complete & sign the top section – Student Information & Classroom Instruction, and the bottom section – Range instruction & Handgun Proficiency Demonstration. The in-person or online class provider will sign and complete the top sections, while the LTC Proficiency Demonstration Instructor will complete and sign the bottom sections.

The shooting qualification is designed to assess basic proficiency with a handgun and demonstrate proper gun handling and safety to the LTC Instructor. It's not an advanced marksmanship test, and it's not intended for learning basic gun safety or shooting skills.
